As well as providing affordable household furniture and appliances, promoting the benefits of reducing, reusing, and recycling Refurbs runs several community projects. These projects offer new skills, training, and volunteering for the local community.

Flintshire Fellas wood shed

Flintshire Fellas wood shed aims to combat the stigma around men’s mental health. Offering a friendly environment for men to get together learn new skills, practice old ones whilst providing emotional and mental well-being to those attending who need it.

The project is open to unemployed or retired fellas with sessions currently held on a Tuesday at our Flint site (Aber Park Ind estate). Activities include repairing furniture, creating small wooden craft pieces such as planters and bird boxes for resale and joining in various ‘expert’ workshops.

The project is hoping to establish a second weekly session if you would like to register your interest for this session, please message us  HERE  and we can add you to the waiting list.
