Supporting single parents with children in Wrexham and Flintshire.
Many families unfortunately still experience hardship even though they are working as much as their circumstances allow and claiming the benefits they are eligible for. As a result, these families may take cost-saving actions which are detrimental to their wellbeing, such as skipping meals themselves to feed their children or rationing energy usage.
Power to Single Parents will make those individuals aware of any other help available which they may not have considered, enabling them to make cost savings through small energy efficiency measures and behaviour change.
This project provides support to single parents in Wrexham and Flintshire to manage and reduce their energy usage and subsequent costs. Project recipients will receive regular community advice sessions (with home visits or online/telephone support for those who cannot attend a community session), drop in events, and ongoing online/phone support.
