Groundwork North Wales the Wrexham based environmental charity has added two more free fun family events to their summer activities timetable, taking place at Alyn Waters country park, Wrexham.
Nature Scavenger Hunt Aug 10th 1pm – 3.30pm. Learn all about all the wonderful wildlife found at Alyn Waters Country Park by following the nature scavenger hunt.
You will find the Groundwork North Wales staff at the back of the visitor’s centre where you can grab your scavenger hunt sheet and map. Follow the map, learn about the special species of the park, and get some exercise too!
Going on a Beast Hunt! Aug 24th 10am – 1pm. Ever wondered about the smallest members of the animal world? Take a Mini Beast ID sheet and map and go discover the creepy crawlies of Alyn Waters. Spend time identifying the creatures and learning about their habitats too!
The activities are part of Groundwork North Wales We Care project funded through the Welsh Government Enabling Natural Resources and Well-being. The projects aim is to develop and deliver local environmental improvements to transform neglected green spaces into a new green community asset everyone can benefit from.
On Aug 24th they will also be running a volunteer drop-in session for those interested in doing practical outdoor skills and helping to maintain green spaces in and around Wrexham as part of the We Care project. Pop around the back of Alyn Waters’ visitor centre and have a chat to Groundwork North Wales staff to find out more details on how to get involved.
