Every school summer holidays Wild Ground host a range of fun and exciting activities, aimed at encouraging families outside, enjoying the fresh air and getting back to nature.

This year was no different and we were delighted to hold a record number of events with twelve family friendly activity sessions held across our nature reserves in Wrexham, Flintshire, and Denbighshire. In total 78 children and their parents/carers got closer to nature with us this Summer.

Some new events were introduced this year such as learning how to build natural dens on Knowle Hill and nature inspired mosaics at Rhydymwyn.

Other events included, creating nature prints, making dragon flies & rafts and  creating animal masks. We even held an evening walk at Glascoed Nature Reserve, where we spotted deer, and listened to bat calls using bat detectors.

We want to thank everyone who attended our events this summer and ask that people look out on social media and on our website for our Halloween half term events for more nature-based fun this autumn.
