Minera Lead Mines near Wrexham an exciting visitor attraction and outdoor events space.
The lead mines offer a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past of the beautiful Clywedog Valley and visitors can explore the country park seeing remains of the lead processing areas from the 18th and 19th centuries, the restored beam engine house, winding engine and boiler houses. There is also a visitor centre that tells the story of the site plus a country park covering 53 acres of grassland, wooded areas and archaeological sites.
The Minera Lead Mines site has recently undergone some work thanks to funding from the Welsh Governments Brilliant Basics fund, and further support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Wrexham County Borough Council.
The Rangers office and toilet block have been remodelled to offer a space for the community and better facilities for park users and the visitors centre is having new interpretation and exhibition displays installed.

Previously supported through the Heritage Lottery Fund and working in partnership with Wrexham County Borough Council we received a grant to develop, try out and test sustainable ways to manage the Minera Lead Mines Visitor Centre so that it can open to the public. The programme provided opportunities for people to say what they would like to see at the site in the future and how that can be provided sustainably.
Clywedog Valley North East Wales Digital Trail.
The Clywedog Valley trail runs from the moors above Minera Quarry to King's Mill just south of Wrexham Town Centre.
The Clywedog Valley Digital Trail has been put together by the organisations who are involved in managing and promoting the Clywedog Valley including the Minera Quarry Trust, North Wales Wildlife Trust, Friends of Nant Mill, Wrexham County Borough Council, Woodland Trust, Canolfan Melin y Brenin, Coedpoeth and Minera Camera Club, and Groundwork North Wales.
