Global Recycling Day was created in 2018 to help recognise and celebrate the importance recycling plays in preserving primary resources and securing the future of our planet.
It is a day for thinking more about what we throw away – seeing opportunity and not waste.
One of Refurbs primary objectives is to make people aware of the benefits of reusing and recycling to reduce pollution, to protect the environment and to promote sustainable waste management practice.
We’re continuing to play our part by refurbishing preloved household furniture, keeping it out of landfill. We take any opportunity to shout about the benefits of recycling, not just on our wallets but on our planet.
Amy Cleary, Manager at Refurbs Flint says “Here at Refurbs we love sharing the messages of recycle and reusing. It’s great to provide people the opportunity to not only save their pennies on secondhand furniture, but to save the planet at the same time”.
Refurbs offer affordable, quality, secondhand household appliances and furniture. Choosing to buy preloved items allows you to furnish your home for less, joining the recycling movement, reducing the amount sent to landfill and reducing the carbon footprint associated with buying new items.
Donating to or buying from local charities such as Refurbs not only enables us to provide support and services to communities across North Wales, but it also prevents hundreds of tonnes of waste going to landfill. Reusing and recycling these items rather than sending them to landfill helps reduce global warming and in turn tackle climate change.
