Tesco Fruit & Veg grants fund thousands of projects that support children & young people across the UK. Groundwork North Wales supports the delivery of the grant for the North and Mid Wales areas.

The Tesco Fruit & Veg grant programme has now officially launched alongside Tesco’s national strategy campaign: ‘Free Fruit & Veg for Schools’.

This funding aims to make a positive difference to children and improve their access to free fruit and veg to support a healthy, nutritious diet.

The scheme is open to all schools, PTA's, registered charities, CIC's, and not-for-profit organisations, with priority given to projects that provide food and support to young people. Examples of eligible applications with a focus on food security, children and young people could be:

  • Eligible project ideas include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Organisations that provide a healthy meal/snack as part of the project
  • Addressing holiday hunger amongst children outside of school time
  • Healthy eating projects that support families to cook healthy meals on a budget
  • Foodbanks who provide food support to families
  • Growing produce in allotments/planters
  • Healthy eating projects that support families

Nominate and support a local project that matters to you.

We welcome nominations from Tesco customers and colleagues, you can nominate projects for a Tesco Fruit & Veg grant and vote in-store for shortlisted projects. Help us fund the projects that really matter to you.

Grants are awarded through a public vote in store, the 1st place project will be awarded a maximum available amount of £1500, with £1000 and £500 also available for 2nd and 3rd places.
