The Groundwork North Wales group Celebrates Their Wonderful Volunteers at Upcoming Volunteer Celebration!

Volunteer Week is celebrated between the 3rd and 9th of June – a week to celebrate volunteers and say thank you for the contributions they make.

Volunteers from across the Groundwork North Wales group (which includes Refurbs and Wild Ground) are invited to Alyn Waters, Wrexham, to celebrate the amazing work they carry out. This special celebration event will honor and thank the volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy throughout the year.

This year’s celebration is set to be a memorable occasion filled with expressions of gratitude, entertainment, and refreshments. During this celebration, volunteers will receive thanks from Lorna Crawshaw (Head of Programmes and Partnerships), and trustees from the board.

Karen Balmer (Group CEO) said of the celebration: “We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers. Their work plays a vital role in all of our achievements across the Groundwork North Wales group. Our volunteer celebration is the perfect occasion to sincerely thank our volunteers for their commitment and the time they give so generously.”

Our volunteers have shared their reasons for volunteering with us:

  • “Looking after nature and the environment.” – Sam
  • “The camaraderie, and the feeling that you are doing your bit to help” - John
  • “Working with other people.” – Thomas
  • “Helping people.” – Kirk
