Tesco Stronger Starts Grants are providing vital support to thousands of community projects and good causes across the UK, with Groundwork North Wales playing a key role in enabling organisations in the region to access this funding.
This program is a lifeline for community groups, charities, and non-profits, offering much-needed financial assistance to support local initiatives.
Administered nationally by Groundwork and regionally by Groundwork North Wales, the Tesco Stronger Starts Grants scheme is currently open to applications. Eligible groups can apply to secure funding to further their impactful work in local communities.
With the support of Groundwork North Wales, recent beneficiaries include The Hive, who run Abergele Youth Shed, which has successfully launched a breakfast club for young people thanks to this funding. Since its launch earlier this year, the club has provided support to young people, ensuring they start their day with a nutritious meal and a supportive environment.
Linda, spokesperson for the group, said "The Stronger Starts Grant has meant that we can provide breakfast before school to 25 - 30 young people every week. This means that they are going to school with a full stomach which helps them to stay focussed on their work throughout the day. It also encourages good time keeping and attendance. Young people are able to prepare for school both physically and emotionally."
Another notable project from The Hive, Foodbank Produce, has also received funding and made a tremendous impact. To date, it has provided access to food for 17,061 people, including children, highlighting the critical role Tesco Stronger Starts Grants play in addressing food insecurity.
Tesco Stronger Starts Grants continue to drive meaningful change, empowering local organisations to uplift their communities and support those in need. Groundwork North Wales remains committed to guiding groups through the application process, ensuring this support reaches those who need it most.
