There is a great variety of free family friendly activities taking place this February half term from the Groundwork North Wales Group.

Minera Lead Mines will host a Stepping into Spring event on Tuesday 21st Feb from 1 pm – 3 pm. Families will have a chance to get creative and decorate plant pots, plant them up with beautiful spring plants and take them home to enjoy. A wild and wonderful nature themed scavenger hunt is also on offer. Families are asked to please book onto this event.

Wild Ground are running a Fire Pit & Crafts event on Tuesday Feb 21st from 10 am – 12 pm at Knowle Hill Nature Reserve, Buckley, Flintshire. The event promises to be magical morning with a fire pit to warm up by and a variety of nature-based crafts to take part in.

Join the Our Backyard Programme at the Community Gardens in Connah’s Quay on Wednesday Feb 22nd for a family-friendly session of Fun Bushcraft. Families can enjoy making bird feeders and warming up next to a campfire whilst doing some outdoor cooking in the Community Gardens. This session lasts from 1 pm – 3 pm and booking is essential.

A series of free Lantern Making Workshops are taking place where children and their families can make beautiful lanterns, ready for the  Lantern Parade in Wrexham on March 1st. Families can book to attend at Alyn Waters on Monday 20th Feb at 10.00, Ty Pawb on the Tuesday 21st Feb at 1.00 pm  or Minera Lead Mines on Thursday 23rd Feb at 10.00 am and a drop-in session is available from 10.30 am until 2.30 pm on Saturday 18th Feb at St Marys Church Hall, Ruabon.

Following the workshops families can bring their lanterns home & join the Lantern Parade on March 1st at Queens Square, Wrexham at 6.00pm.
