The ‘Our Back Yard’ project that has been running across Connah’s Quay aims to improve green spaces and support regular community volunteering.
The project which has been running since 2018 was set to end in October 2022 but due to the disruption of the pandemic was extended until October 2023.
The project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and run by Groundwork North Wales has been working with partners since 2018 to improve green spaces in Connah’s Quay through a range of initiatives.
This includes working with local schools and supporting volunteering opportunities, empowering the local communities to improve their natural environment for current and future generations. Various capital works have been undertaken to improve green spaces across Connah’s Quay including Golftyn Park, Quayscape Community Gardens, Quay Wetlands, Broadoak and Llwyni.
As the project nears completion the project team have created an online survey (paper copies are available) to look at measuring the impact the project has had on the local area and residents. It would be great if you could take 3 minutes to complete the survey HERE.
Richard Aram Project Manager at Groundwork North Wales said
“We hope the project has had a real impact on the area's greenspaces and the skills and knowledge developed by volunteers and school pupils over the past 6 years will benefit the community going forward.”
“The verbal feedback we have received regarding the projects impact has been positive. It would be great collate this feedback more formally through this survey.”
