Groundwork Training is delighted to share that it has received funding to deliver Adult Community Learning courses through to 2028.

This funding will continue to provide fully funded courses for adults aged 19+ who reside in Wrexham and Flintshire. This has been made possible by the North East Wales Adult Community Learning Partnership through the Welsh Government Adult Community Learning Grant. This will provide adult learning opportunities and growth in our communities across Wrexham and Flintshire. 

The Adult Community Learning funding will play a vital role in supporting adults to take their first steps back into education, in a supportive and welcoming environment, by removing barriers and offering flexible and accessible learning opportunities, allowing learners to build practical skills for everyday life, whilst nurturing confidence, curiosity and exploring new pathways. This investment will also contribute to personal growth and well-being, supporting learners in reconnecting with their community, discovering new interests, and finding a renewed sense of achievement.

This funding will continue to strengthen our ability to support adults across our communities, helping them return to learning with confidence and purpose. The impact reaches beyond the classroom; it strengthens families, communities, and individual well-being."

The target groups for our learners are those with low or no skills, low self-confidence, unemployed, low levels of literacy and numeracy, digital literacy skills, no formal qualification(s), and geographical barriers that may hinder engagement and those with financial constraints. Our ethos is to deliver courses through a learner-centred approach, meeting the needs of learners and communities with an informal and welcoming delivery style.
