Thanks to funding from the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, Refurbs and Wrexham County Borough Council are excited to announce that Lend & Mend will be coming to Tŷ Pawb soon

A first for North Wales launching in the heart of Wrexham, Lend & Mend offers residents a smarter, more sustainable way to access everyday items. Lend & Mend is a hub where locals can borrow tools, appliances, and sports equipment for a small fee—saving money, cutting waste, and reducing unnecessary consumption.
The hub will be offering regular repair sessions, where people can bring broken household items for free repair and learn about the repair from skilled volunteers. For those looking to get creative, upcycling workshops will teach residents how to transform old or discarded materials into something new and useful.
This exciting new space isn’t just about saving money—it’s about bringing people together. Repair sessions and workshops will connect individuals, fostering skill sharing and a stronger sense of community. Instead of buying tools or appliances that sit unused for most of the year, residents can borrow what they need, when they need it. Instead of throwing things away, they can learn to repair and reuse, extending the life of everyday items and cutting down on landfill waste.
Lend & Mend is all about helping people make real changes that benefit both their wallets and the planet. By reducing the demand for new products, the initiative lowers CO₂ emissions and the consumption of raw materials, making a tangible impact on environmental conservation.
"Lend & Mend is more than a lending service—it’s a space to learn and share. Change starts locally, and we are here to help give people the tools and skills they need to live more sustainably.” said Stewart Platt, Head of Commercial Services for Refurbs on behalf of Lend & Mend
With a packed schedule of repair sessions, workshops, and lending opportunities, Lend & Mend is set to become a vibrant hub for more sustainable living. Residents are encouraged to get involved through volunteering, borrowing items, and learning new skills.
Lend and Mend is the result of a collaborative effort between Wrexham County Council, Benthyg Cymru, Repair Cafe Wales, Lend Engine, Groundwork North Wales and Refurbs, and community volunteers.
