An exciting new high street store is opening in Wrexham on Friday September 20th. Flintshire's’ biggest retailer of new and reconditioned household furniture and appliances, Refurbs is coming to Wrexham town centre.
The brand-new store is an expansion of Refurbs site at Aber Park, Flint and this new retail offering will continue the revitalisation of Henblas Street in Wrexham . The focus of the store will be to offer new and reconditioned small electricals, audio /visual equipment and white goods all at truly affordable prices.
The revamped unit covering 2,750 sq. foot will be creating six new jobs with additional opportunities for volunteers from stockroom and retail positions to assisting with the reconditioning and recycling pf the appliances.
Refurbs operate on four objectives: to provide affordable furniture, to provide work placement, training and volunteering opportunities, to make people aware of the benefits of reusing and recycling, to reduce pollution and protect the environment, and promoting sustainable waste management practice. As an organisation in the past 12 months Refurbs has supported 4,116 volunteer hours and diverted 702 tonnes from landfill.

There are over 7,500 children living in poverty in the Wrexham area. Refurbs can assist these households with low incomes furnish their homes for less. Enabling everyone to have access to the essential furniture and goods they need to lead a basic and acceptable quality of life.
Refurbs help the environment by reducing what is sent to landfill by collecting re-usable household items, recycling and reconditioning them to be sold at Refurbs, at affordable prices and with a warranty. We have been working closely with Flintshire County Council by providing services such as bulky waste collections, void clearances and have an award-winning sofa deconstruction project. Such services allow Refurbs to provide training and volunteering opportunities for people facing challenges such as health issues or long-term unemployment. Services which we hope to replicate for the people of Wrexham.
