Volunteer Role Description: Furniture Repair Volunteer

Purpose: To support the Warehouse Assistant in ensuring that all items of furniture are maintained to a high standard ready for resale.

Location: Refurbs Flint, Aber Road Industrial Estate, Flint, CH6 5EX

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with general repairs of furniture.
  • To ensure all furniture is maintained to a high standard.
  • To transfer Furniture from the workshop to showroom areas.
  • To assist customers with general enquiries.
  • Build flat pack furniture.
  • Assist in ON loading/ OFF loading vehicles.
  • Help to maintain showroom and sold items bay.
  • Cleaning sofas and soft furnishings.
  • Help identify damaged stock/stock for repair.
  • Upcycle furniture – repaint/sand/stain/strip.

Reports to: Retail Manager

Length of Appointment:  On Going - Long term opportunities available

Time Commitment: No minimum commitment. Site open 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday.

Qualifications required: None required as training will be provided. Interest in woodwork and/or recycling would be beneficial.

Support / Training offered:

  • Manual Handling and relevant training will be provided.
  • Gain new skills & experience in a relaxed supportive environment.
  • Support with job search/CV skills.

Age Requirement: 18 upwards.

Dress Code: Smart Casual.

DBS Check required: No - all work will be supervised.

Additions: Travel expenses to be reimbursed and refreshments available on the day.
