Groundwork North Wales is delighted to share that the group has been recognised in the NatWest SE100 Index of the top 100 social enterprises in the UK, for the sixth year running.
This comes as an extra special achievement during the organisation’s 35th anniversary year.
Groundwork North Wales CEO, Karen Balmer, has also been recognised in the Pioneers100 List, which shines a light on 100 social enterprise leaders who are driving change across the UK.
The NatWest SE100 Impact Pioneer Awards, including the SE100 Index and Pioneers100 List, are part of an annual programme created and delivered by Pioneers Post in partnership with NatWest Social & Community Capital. It aims to list, celebrate and learn from the UK’s 100 most impressive social enterprises, and the top 100 pioneering leaders, every year.
The Groundwork North Wales group’s entry to the awards focused on the positive impacts made for People, Places and the Planet over the past year, which included:
• 2271 accredited qualifications delivered.
• 126 adults supported into education, training or employment.
• 2396 people helped to reduce domestic energy use, water use and waste sent to landfill.
• 847 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill.
•1457 people supported to make greener choices.
As well as being recognised in the Top 100, Groundwork North Wales was a finalist in the Climate Pioneer category, which recognises pioneering organisations leading by example and inspiring others to work against climate change and towards a greener, more resilient future.
The Group CEO, Karen Balmer, was a finalist in the Pioneering Leader category, which recognises social enterprise leaders demonstrating excellent leadership, effectiveness and inspiration in taking the team on a mission-driven journey to success.
