This field-based botanical training course is hosted by Wild Ground, and led by Emily Meilleur, Flintshire’s Vice-County Recorder for vascular plants.

It is suitable for beginners/intermediate level and will help delegates understand the key difference between common plant families of woodlands, wetlands, scrub, grassland and meadow habitats, and recognise the key ID features of plants in the field.

The training will also highlight some of the main indicator species of the different habitats, and factors that influence their distribution, and will cover the ID of invasive non-native species and garden escapes.

Sturdy footwear is a must (ideally walking boots), please bring waterproofs (if appropriate), sun hat, suncream. We’ll provide tea/coffee but attendees should bring their own drinks, lunch and snacks.

Toilets are available on site.
