Meeting at the Rhydymwyn Valley NR car park 21.30

We will walk two set transects listening to bats on bat boxes, including some which show their sounds as sonograms, collecting data to show which bats are active along these key parts of the reserve.  We will provide bat detectors.

Please bring: weather appropriate clothing, suitable footwear (e.g. walking boots), a small hand or head torch (if you have), and feel free to bring your own bat detectors if you have them.

Please note: this activity is a night-time survey and may last 2-3hrs (finish time between midnight and 1AM).  Once we start we will be walking the transects continuously at a steady pace for the duration.  The route is mostly along the trackways, but does include some small areas of ‘off-road’ across rough grassland.  Please be aware of these field conditions when you book on.

Limited availability and by booking only – please contact [email protected] to reserve a space.
