Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

This an ideal introduction to understanding the principles of health and safety in a construction environment. This qualification is typically undertaken by those with no previous qualification or experience of health and safety; however, this can be taken as a refresher. This qualification supports an individual’s application for a CSCS card.

Syllabus

The subjects covered on this course includes:

  • Principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving Health and Safety at Work
  • Importance of safe manual handling in the workplace
  • Importance of working safely at height in the workplace
  • Risks to health within a construction environment
  • Importance of working around plant and equipment safely

Duration

A minimum of 21 guided learning hours, with a total qualification time of 29 hours.

Numbers

A maximum of 16 learners can be accommodated on this course, learners must be a minimum of 16 years to undertake this qualification.

Certification

A level 1 Award in Health and in a Construction Environment (RQF) will be issued upon successful assessment. This qualification does not have an expiry date. It’s recommended that learners attend refresh courses to keep up to date with change in policies and procedures.
