Groundwork North Wales celebrated the fantastic and amazing work their volunteers undertake every week with a fabulous afternoon tea at Venue in the Park, Alyn Waters.

Groundwork North Wales are extremely thankful for the support and work carried out by the volunteers. We took the opportunity to celebrate all they do during Volunteers Week which is celebrated between 1st and 7th June every year. It is a week in which the UK celebrates volunteers and says thank you to them for the contribution that they make.

Volunteers across Groundwork North Wales and its subsidiaries (Refurbs Flintshire, Wild Ground, Pedal Power) were invited to Venue in the Park, Alyn Waters, and treated to a sumptuous afternoon tea. All the volunteers in attendance were thanked by Karen Balmer CEO and Lorna Crawshaw – Head of Programmes and Partnerships and presented with a certificate and small gift in recognition of all their hard work and dedication.

Karen Balmer CEO said of the celebration

“The volunteers bring so much to our organisation; skills, advice, experience but the time that they choose to give freely is so valuable particular as it is the most precious commodity in all our lives. So today we say Thank You for that time and Celebrate you.”

Lorna Crawshaw echoed these thoughts

“Today was a lovely opportunity to Thank all of our Great Volunteers for the work they do across North Wales. We couldn’t do it without you.”
