Sessions can be devised to suit your individual curriculum needs by selecting elements from all activities

The sessions can take place at  Groundwork North Wales Education Centre, Tanyfron, LL11 5SZ. Cost will be dependent on sessions selected and number of leaners. Prices start from £225 for a class of 35 for a 9.45am – 2.30pm session. 

Energy Agents, Foundation - Key Stage  2

The energy STEM challenge helping pupils champion the environment and become enthusiasts of positive behaviour change by designing their ultimate energy efficient home!  

Through personal investigation, students will first be introduced to how energy is made and gets to their homes. Your class will work together to explore a variety of home efficiency tool, investigating and evaluating a range of familiar products. Thinking about how they work, how they are used and the views of the people who use them. Learning aspects of fuel and energy sources and how they can become more energy savvy to conserve energy in their own home.

STEM learning outcomes:

  • Know how energy is generated and the potential problems this may cause.
  • To learn about renewable sources of energy (wind and solar), and why this type of energy is important for our future.
  • Know about everyday appliances that use electricity
  • Recognise how people can improve the environment or damage it.
  • To carry out an investigation using various fuel efficiency measures.
  • Discovering how smart meters - a new technology being installed in British homes - can help their families become more energy efficient.
  • Suggest alternative ways of making products

Waste Warriors, Foundation - Key Stage 4 

This programme supports the 'Eco School' ethos designed for sustainable progress and development, which allows the whole school to grow and develop both educationally and as a community.

The  inclusive activities challenge each learner's ability to work collaboratively, including paper making workshops, learners think critically and foster confidence in their own curiosity.

Developed with clear objectives to raise the awareness of  ESDGC and  the 4 R's,the programme  explores environmental impacts  on our planet and encourages learners to  become champions for our environment. The programme compliments and helps to promote the 'Eco Schools' message whilst inspiring pupils through positive classroom & outdoor learning experiences.
