Groundwork North Wales has been providing garden maintenance to shielding residents and NHS key workers in Wrexham,

Our.Umbraco.Vorto.Models.VortoValue

thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The team have been working on gardens across Wrexham cutting hedges, mowing lawns, weeding, and tidying. Ensuring that the gardens can provide a little oasis of calm for residents during this period of uncertainty.

Part of the project included gifting each recipient a garden pack containing a potted plant, a bird box and bird feeder.

Chris and Geraint part of the Groundwork North Wales project team visited Jennifer Rowlands in Chirk for a fourth garden visit to remove an overgrown pampas grass and to present her with her garden pack.

Jennifer had seen the information about the project on social media and contacted Groundwork for help with her lawn and hedge.

“Living on my own since my husband died, I have struggled to keep on top of the garden. Chris and Geraint have done a fantastic job in the garden and I have been able to enjoy sitting outside this summer watching the birds in her garden”.

The team have had more great feedback on the project from other residents including Val Hartnell who said:

“I would like to thank Groundwork North Wales so much for the bird nesting box and lavender plant, and for sorting out our hedge in the summer”.
