Groundwork North Wales’ training team have been working in partnership with local Councils for Voluntary Service in Flintshire (FLVC) and Denbighshire (DVSC) to deliver Safeguarding training for third sector organisations.  This has involved delivering courses for managers, staff and volunteers to ensure they are compliant with the new National Safeguarding Training Standards in Wales safeguarding training standards, thus ensuring individuals within organisations are receiving the correct and appropriate level of training.

Feedback from the courses has been:

EM who recently attended a Group B course arranged by KIM Inspire in Holywell commented, “The most interactive & informative Safeguarding course I have ever done.”

JT who attended the Group C courses arranged through FLVC said, “Mark’s delivery was on point throughout the two-day course – reference and highlighting recent Safeguarding cases in Wales and more locally in North Wales made things very real. I will go away a lot more confident of the process and what we need to have in place as an organisation.”

DJ who attended the Group C course arranged by DVSC said, “Thank You Mark, a brilliant course and thanks for the massive “to do” list – which will undoubtedly help us as a voluntary organisation.”

ML who attended the same course commented, “Really enjoyed the in-person training which was so interactive throughout and allowed much discussion and shared experiences... looking forward to continuing my learning through the ongoing CPD.”

Mark, lead for Safeguarding at Groundwork North Wales, said “It’s a real privilege to be able to deliver the Group B and Group C Safeguarding sessions across all sectors but I particularly enjoy working with Third sector and voluntary organisations as it allows learners to hear different experiences and learn from each other and share good practice and from feedback and discussions. It’s apparent these courses do help and support them in improving their standards and practices around Safeguarding”.
