Groundwork Training is pleased to announce that it has received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) to support and expand community engagement activities across Wrexham

This funding will help increase access to funded personal development, training, and skills programmes by engaging more individuals in learning through a variety of locally based, free community sessions.
The activities are designed to embed essential skills such as numeracy, literacy, and digital literacy, and offer employability workshops and family learning courses. By delivering these sessions directly in the community, the aim is to build confidence, reduce barriers to participation, and open pathways to longer-term learning and volunteering opportunities.
“These activities are not just about education they are about empowering people to take the next step, whether that’s returning to work, gaining new skills, or building confidence. We deliver in a way that is learner-centred, informal, and paced to meet people where they are.”
said Louise Stokes, Head of Groundwork Training
This latest round of funding builds on previous SPF People & Skills support, continuing efforts to help those furthest from the labour market overcome obstacles through tailored, cohesive, and accessible learning opportunities.
